Vermont is the second smallest state in America with little more than 600,000 residents. The state is the leading producer of maple syrup in the country and is known as the "Green Mountain State". It is believed that the word, "Vermont", means "the green mountains". The actual Green Mountains are also found in the state of Vermont. In an area where skiing is a major outdoor event, it stands to reason that the hotels will offer storage for guests' ski equipment or will have equipment for hire.
